What lunch guests look for
Most visitors arrive from a phone shortly before eleven with one question: what is on the lunch table today. They want the dishes, the diet markings and the opening hours on the first screen, not inside a PDF or a social media post.
Office managers come with a different task. They need to order coffee or a meeting lunch for a group, check the delivery area and know that special diets are handled. Groups want to book a table so they can sit together at the busiest time.
How the Kauhakulma demo does it
Kauhakulma is a fictional restaurant that Virtueinfo made to show what we build. Its centre is the weekly lunch list. Each day lists a soup, two home-style dishes, a vegetarian dish and a dessert, each with the usual Finnish diet markings and a legend that explains them.
The page highlights today's dishes using Helsinki time, so a guest in another time zone still sees the right day. Filter chips narrow the week to dishes that suit a diet: choosing vegan also counts as vegetarian, dairy-free and lactose-free. A print button produces an A4 version for a break-room wall.
The home page shows a ticket-style card with today's dishes, read straight from the lunch list page. The owner updates one marked block per language each Monday and both pages change. The catering page has an order form that gives a price estimate as you pick the service and head count, clearly labelled as not a binding offer.
What we would set up for your restaurant
For a real Finnish restaurant we build the site in Finnish with an English or Swedish version, and make the weekly update as quick as the demo's: one place to edit, no developer needed. We add Menu and Restaurant structured data, connect your Google Business Profile and write page titles for the searches people make in your town.
If your lunch list already lives in a till system or is sent to lunch listing services, we can read it from the same source so one edit updates every place it appears.
Catering and group booking forms can send to email or connect to your booking or ordering system. Analytics load only after the visitor gives consent. We check colour contrast, keyboard use and screen reader labels, and we keep the site updated and backed up after launch.
