What aurora guests need from the website
Most visitors have one or two nights in Lapland and want the best chance of seeing the lights. They need to know which tour suits them, which nights still have seats, what happens if the sky is cloudy and whether warm clothing is included. Families ask about age limits. Photographers ask about tripods and group size.
Revontuli Nights is a fictional business that Virtueinfo made to show what we build. The demo is in English only, as most aurora guests come from abroad. For a real client we would build the Finnish version too.
How the demo plans a night out
The home page opens with a panel called Sky over Rovaniemi. Round gauges show the Kp index, cloud cover and hours of darkness, a bar chart shows cloud by hour, and a short note gives the guide's call: we go, we chase, or worth booking. Visitors can switch between tonight, tomorrow and the night after. The demo uses sample data, and a live site could read a forecast feed while the guide on duty adds the call each afternoon. A short guide below the panel explains why cloud cover matters more than Kp.
The signature feature is the departure calendar. Each day shows whether seats are free, nearly gone or full, and chips filter by tour. Choosing a night lists its departures with pickup times and seats left. The Book this departure button opens the booking form with the tour and date already filled in. The form asks for the pickup area, the number of guests, and shoe sizes and heights for the loaned overalls and boots, and a summary updates the sample total as the guest types.
What we would set up for your tour company
For a real Finnish tour operator we build the site in Finnish and English, and add other languages your guests use. Prices are shown including VAT. We set up your Google Business Profile and write tour pages that can be found in local and travel searches.
The calendar can read seats from your booking system, and the booking form can lead to online payment or send requests to your email or WhatsApp. Analytics only start after consent, the site is built to meet accessibility requirements, and we handle maintenance through the season and the changes between seasons.
